At an award ceremony in Prague last week, Petr Cech was named the Czech “Fotbalista roku” (”Footballer of the Year”) for the second time, despite his error in the Turkey game at Euro 2008.
The winner is chosen by an Oscar-style football academy, composed of coaches, team captains, national team players with at least 25 caps, previous winners, media representatives, and CMFS (Czech football association) officials.
