Bosnia beats Belgium 2-1 in World Cup qualifier

ZENICA, Bosnia-Herzegovina (AP) — Edin Dzeko scored twice to lead Bosnia-Herzegovina to a 2-1 win over Belgium and stay second in Group 5 of World Cup qualifying on Wednesday.
Dzeko was left unmarked on a cross to head home in the 12th minute, and the striker made it 2-0 on a counterattack in the 15th.
Belgium, which lost 4-2 at home to Bosnia-Herzegovina last week, rarely threatened and grew increasingly frustrated, resulting in the dismissal of midfielder Axel Witsel in the 60th for a high challenge on Senijad Ibricic.
Gill Swerts scored with a volley in the 88th for Belgium's consolation goal.
Dzeko scored against the Belgians on Saturday, too, almost eliminating the chances of Belgium qualifying for the tournament in South Africa. Coach Rene Vandereycken is widely expected to be fired Thursday.
